We offer unique and unforgettable big game wilderness hunts in the Bob Marshall wilderness. If your idea of a big game hunt is riding a horse through miles and miles of pristine wilderness without ever seeing another hunter or hiker, this is your ticket to paradise. We offer elk and deer bow hunts in early September and rifle season opens on the 15th of September in area #150 for elk, whitetail deer, mule deer, black bear, mountain lion and mountain goat. Hunts are between eight and ten days, with each hunting party consisting of four to six hunters, three guides and a cook. We provide trips designed for elk hunts, deer hunts, bear hunts, and mountain lion hunts. We are one of Montana’s oldest outfitting families, with over 76 years of experience hunting in the Montana wilderness. Mick has been in the business for over 45 years and is now joined by his three sons, who help run the three hunting camps. For over 70 years we have been selectively breeding and training exceptional mountain walking horses. Our goal is to give you the best hunting experience possible. We have the largest hunting area in the Bob Marshall with over 150,000 acres of wilderness to explore. We are proud of the success we’ve had over four generations of hunting guides and pride ourselves in how many of our clients return to hunt with us along the Southfork of the Flathead in the Bob Marshall Wilderness. At our hunting camps, our wall tents are equipped with stoves, cots, lanterns, shower and washstand, floor and a small table for playing cards. We make fresh, delicious home cooked meals in a large cook tent and serve them family style around a big table. Meal time is a great time to catch up and hear first-hand accounts of the day’s hunting stories and wildlife sightings. Each hunter is allowed to take 75 lbs of gear. You should come prepared for both warm and cold days—Mother Nature is hard to predict. Don’t worry though, we’ll provide you with a list of what to bring once you book your hunt. Hunters should arrive with their personal gear at the starting corrals (located at Holland Lake) on the evening before the trip. We like to make sure that your gear is packed up and ready to go bright and early the next day. Overnight accommodations are available at the Swan River Lodge located in Condon, Montana. To book your room call: (406) 754-2688 well in advance to ensure you get a room. Our 2009 Hunting Dates are as follows. Please call in advance for reservations. For out-of-state applications, write to or call the Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks at: 1420 E. 6th Ave. (406) 444-2950 Our hunts tend to book quickly, so you should ideally call in January of the year you wish to go on your hunt.
